Lush Spring (Mothers Day & New Products To All Stores) Range Round Up

Hey!

Lush have released some new products to all stores after their Lush Summit that is held within Tobacco Dock London so I thought that I would tell you all about it. There is also some stuff thats exclusive to Oxford Street but as I live in Leeds I sadly can't really talk much about that. I also know that the Easter range has been talked about but sadly I won't be talking about that range until it is released to all stores so I can properly smell them.

Yummy Mummy Shower Cream

This is a Mothers Day essential when it comes to Lush just like Snow Fairy at Christmas or Prince Charming at Valentines Day. This contains Fairtrade Organic Cocoa Butter which makes the base of Yummy Mummy hence this product being a Cream and not a Gel as its way more nourishing than a gel, Yummy Mummy also contains Geranium and Brazillian Orange Oils and Tonka Absolute which makes up a slightly floral but sweet scent. The only difference between this years version and last years is that this years version is slightly more sweet whereas 2016's version was heavy on the Geranium for me. It's £4.95 for 100g but there is other prices for other sizes.

A circle of purple shower cream on a white background.

Mum Bath Bomb

This bath bomb comes in two colours just like the Which Came First's at Easter time so you can choose between the two or buy both if you love the bath product! This product contains Organic Sweet Orange, Rose and Sicilian Lemon Oils. The product also contains Gardenia which when mixed with the Rose gives a floral yet deep scent. I smelt this one in the store and I think its one of those that would take me a couple of times of using to get used to personally. £2.95

A oval pastel pink bath bomb with Mum engraved in capital letters on a white background.

Your Mother Should Know Bubble Bar:

This one reminds me of a jigsaw puzzle due to the different colours that are going on within the bar. It is new for 2017 and I think that it is one that will be remembered just for it's design. I'd say that you could get a good 6 baths from this bar due to it being around the same size of The Comforter/Brightside bar but its up to you on how much or little you put into your bath. Your Mother Should Know contains Orange Flower Absolute, Grapefruit, Rose, Rosewood, and Neroli Oils. When I smelt it in store, I mainly got Neroli and Rosewood and thought that the Grapefruit was mainly in the background but everyone's noses are different so go into your nearest store and smell it for 5 yourself! £5.95 each

A circular bath bomb with sections of blue, yellow and pink on a white background.

Baa Bar

Baaaaa! This little sheep looks and is comforting on your skin! This cute critter contains Soya Milk which nourishes the skin, Bergamot, Clove Bud and Ylang Ylang Oils, Jasmine, Rose and Violet Leaf Absolute's and Lavender Powder. All of these ingredients are soothing and calming so I think personally that this would be best used before bed for adults and children alike! The Violet Leaf Absolute and Clove Bud Oil are main contenders scentwise as it reminds me of a more warming Ultraviolet. £3.95

White ovals with inner smaller black circles and smaller white circles on a light wood board with black cards and white writing.

Elsie The Giraffe (You're Having A Bath) Reusable Bubble Bar

Elsie's in town and she's sticking around until Mothers Day! The background of this product is that one of the top people of Lush was with a friend and their daughter and the daughter was drawing and had a giraffe eraser with them for said drawings so the creator created this and named it Elsie after the daughter who was drawing. This giraffe contains Lime, Lemon and Grapefruit Oils so this is definitely one for any of you who love anything that's citrus based. £6.95

Two bright yellow bubble bars on a wooden lollipop on a white background.

Ups A Daisy Bath Bomb

If you're someone who loves a good flower then you will love this flower influenced bath bomb. Lush did have a bath bomb that resembled a flower lasr year called Daffodil but it was only available via gift sets/Oxford Street so maybe this is the improved all stores version? This bomb contains Rosewood Oil and Rose Absolute so it will have a deep scent to it. This particular product also contains two different types of Lustre so if you're not a fan of that then this bomb might not be for you. £3.50

A yellow flower shaped bath bomb with an inner light blue circle on a white background.

Scrubee Body Butter/Buffer

Scrubee is well looks like a Bee but gives you a good scrubbing at the same time. This product contains Fairtrade Organic Cocoa Butter, Fairtrade Shea Butter, Coconut Oil and Honey to ensure that the skin is moisturised straight after the scrub. To get the scrub effect, Scrubee contains Ground Coconut Shells and Ground Almonds. Scrubee is technically a part of the Honey I Washed The Kids range as it contains Bergamot Oil and Brazilian Orange Oil. Sadly as it contains Honey, it is not suitable for Vegans. £6.95

A yellow oval shaped product with black stripes on a white background.

Honey Lip Scrub

Everyone loves a good lip scrub!" The caster sugar sweethearts can be used via scooping some out of tub, scrubbing over your lips in a circular motion and licking off the excess. This one obvioualy contains Honey which sadly means that Vegans can't use this product but Honey does moisturise the lips beautifully and makes sure that the scrub isn't too harsh. This product also contains Organic Jojoba Oil which doubles the moisture in this scrub. Honey Lip Scrub also contains Vegan White Chocolate, Peppermint (which gives a slight tingle to the lips), Sweet Wild Orange Oil and Vanilla Absolute. I love this product as it tastes so damn irrestible and leaves the lips feeling amazing! £5.75

Circular glass pots containing yellow lip scrub with black lids black stickers and white writing saying honey lip scrub and lush with a white sticker stating the price placed on a wooden slab.

Pink Custard

Do you remember the good old days where Pink Custard was the main thing served with your school dinners? Well Lush have turned the words Pink Custard into something completely different with their new shower jelly. If you're a fan of Think Pink Bath Bomb then you will love this shower jelly as it smells very similar! This gorgeous jelly contains Golden Syrup, Lavender and Neroli Oils Vanilla and Tonka Absolute's, Carrageenan Extract which makes the texture what it is and Coconut Milk. If you haven't smelt or tried out a shower jelly before then I urge you to go into your local Lush and give them a wobble and a sniff.

Pink shower jelly in a clear tub with a black label saying pink custard, a description of the product and a Lush logo on a background of other Lush products.

Mother Earth is a Oxford Street Exclusive and as I am writing about the stuff that has came to all stores I didn't think there was any point including it, Check the website to find out more about Mother Earth.

Plum Rain Shower Gel

This shower gel is something completely new when it comes to scents as Lush have never really done anything Plum wise to my recollection. This has been living at Lush Oxfotd Street for quite a while but whilst living there the gel has visited the Lush Kitchen site a fair few times and as it has done so well at both places Lush decided to share it with the world. This shower gel contains an Umeboshi (Pickled Plum) Infusion, Fresh Plum Juice, Sicilian Mandarin Oil and a few other ingredients. This has such a deep intoxicating smell! I think the best way to put it is a mature distant cousin of The Comforter. £5.50 for 100g and other prices for other sizes.

A circle of dark purple shower gel with a couple of bubbles on a white background.

How To Use Mouthwash Tabs:

Pop one tab into the mouth and take a sip of water to start the fizz. Nibble and swish before spitting out. You can also dissolve a tab in a small amount of water and rinse the mouth that way. They can also be used throughout the day whenever you fancy a bit of oral refreshment!

Creme De Menthe Mouthwash

Lush have done what they do best when it comes to Creme De Menthe mouthwash. They've turned a great liqueur into an awesome oral product. This product contains Menthol crystals, Peppermint Oil, Peppermint Powder and Frosty Holly Lustre (weird I know but it will make your teeth sparkle!) If you love the scent of either Christingle or Intergalactic Bath Bomb then you will love these tabs! £5.95

Bright green rounded rectangular tabs on a white background,

Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster Mouthwash

I love these mouthwash tabs. They provide something different than the general sort of mint flavoured oral products. You can only do mint so many times before it gets boring and what about those people who are allergic to mint? Huh?! These tabs contain Quinine which packs the same taste as Tonic Water, Lemon and Aniseed Oils and Gardenia Extract which creates a deep citrus taste that perks up your mouth for the day. Same price as above.

Pastel yellow rounded rectangular tabs on a white background.

Ugai Mouthwash

When I smelt this one I was a tad bit confused but when I used it I got that this one is for those who like things on the mild side. Ugai is based off the Japanese custom of gargling. This last mouthwash in the range contains Fine Sea Salt, Green Tea Powder and Tea Tree Oil which sounds like a weird mixture but they all work to make the mouth clean and to give a fabulous clean feeling in the mouth. Same price as the other mouthwashes.

Frosty blue rounded rectangular tabs on a white background.

Have you tried any of the above? Let me know down below!

I hope that you have found this post a little bit informative. Don't forget to check the Lush website or your local store if you want to purchase any of the above. I hope that you come back on Monday for another post!

Let's Talk About Abusing Hashtags On Twitter Via Bloggers & How To Use Them Properly

Hey!

If you're a blogger then you will understand what this post is about and for those who aren't then keep reading because I'm going to be throwing some serious shade within this post as it is needed. I feel like the blogging community may hate me/shun me for writing about this but I'm at that point where this topic needs to be shouted from all corners of the Earth so fuck it.

On Twitter, there are many different hashtags to look out for when it comes to blogging such as bblogger for all things beauty, fdbloggers for foodies and so forth. There are even ones that are based on where you are located within the UK such as leedsbloggers, MCRbloggers etc. There is a hashtag for every blogger basically but some of the hashtags that can help bloggers find things such as sponsored opportunities or events are hindered by certain bloggers that decide to abuse hashtags for their own advantage. For example using prrequest which a hashtag used so PR companies can share campaigns and opportunities easily to request things such as dresses, childrens toys, grooming products and other various things. Thats not what the hashtag was intended on! If you need a new dress then go out and purchase one. If your funds are low and you're in desperate need of a dress or children's toys then check places like eBay or Amazon. It stops people that are actually looking for opportunities as they can't find anything from the amount of personal requests.

If you're really wanting to work with a certain brand then it's easier to contact them via an email address and tell them why you would want to work with them. Don't just expect them to come to you via putting in a hashtag.

As I mentioned in my above little ramble, people abuse certain hashtags so I thought I would share how to properly use some well known hashtags just like I did via using prrequest as an example.

Bbloggers:

Use this one if you have a beauty based blog post to share or if you want to talk to bloggers about beauty based things such as finding a new lippie for a night out or what's the best brand for eye shadow/s etc. Don't use it just because you've written a beauty post before so you think you need to include it every time you share a new post.

Bloggerswanted:

This is just like prrequests but they are looking for well bloggers to help them on opportunites. Don't just apply for things as it is a freebie and it has nothing to do with your blog or you have no proper interest in it. Don't write posts about arts and crafts if you've never talked about it anywhere just because you're getting a freebie out of it because when you get to writing a blog post you either wont and that could lead to the PR company getting annoyed with yourself or worse. Just leave it and let someone else who is interested or who's blog is based around it have the opportunity.

Malebloggers;

This is for male bloggers to talk about anything such as grooming or fashion and to share blog posts created by them. This is where all the masculinity is in the blogging community (its funny because i'm in it and I'm not masculine at all.) It's not somewhere to advertise your brand just because you want sales of your products that men can wear to be boosted. That's basically free advertisement in my opinion.

I hope that this blog post hasn't rubbed you up the wrong way too much. I hope that you come back next time for another blog post.

Jamie Spills The Tea | Get Tested

Hey!

Welcome to another episode of Jamie Spills The Tea. I know that this series is meant to be about people within the LGBT+ community but I thought that I would talk to you all about something that the LGBT+ and well all the communities should be taking seriously which is getting tested.

Stock image of a hospital corridor.

Getting tested is normally connoted as a scary process but honestly its not that bad and if you need to get it done then its just best to bite the bullet and get it done with. Yes it might involve things such as an oral swab which might make you gag violently for a minute or so but its only for a minute. You also get to have a wonderful conversation with whoever is doing the testing. (Sidenote, can we just give a massive applause to all the staff who do this as they are amazing!)

Once that is done with, you do have the awkward and very anxious wait of getting the results but if there is anything wrong then they will help you out and if there is nothing wrong then you get the amazing and you can ensure that you keep on having an amazing day and life.

I just think that it's best for everyone to get tested to ensure that you're completely clean as a clean life is a great life. It might be best to research your local clinic.

I hope that this very very short post has educated slightly in any way possible. I know that it was shor but I thought that it was needed.

Keep having a great day. Come back next Wednesday for a more celeb filled Jamie Spills The Tea.

Giving Some Luscious Love To Leeds | Trinity Leeds

Hey!

I just thought I would do a short post as I think that a certain place deserves some loving.

Trinity Leeds is a shopping centre that has only been in Leeds for a few years but has made a marvellous mark on Leeds via the amount of brand new shops, cinemas and concepts such as the open to all Trinity Kitchen that the mall has brought with it.

Trinity Leeds has made shopping a completely amazing experience for myself via the quirky campaigns such as the photobooths for Leeds Pride and the kissing Christmas Tree, having blogging events held there such as the preview night of when Leeds was made in cake form or much much more.

The student nights that TL host are always amazing and as I had a VIP wristband I had the chance of browsing everything and checking out all of the vendors that were offering something for free for all of us poor students half an hour prior to everyone else being let in. The last student lock in had brands such as Jagermeister, Wagamama, Tortilla, Pho and many many more. I think that if I hadn't experienced this then I wouldn't appreciate all of the student offers that are available for what they are.

I also love Trinity Leeds for having it's open space with Caffe Nero as the space is a great place where you can meet up with friends for a hot drink, scroll on your phone or people watch. I love the comfy seats and the plug sockets but I absolutely adore that you're still within the centre of the mall instead of being encapsulated in a little store. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming.

Have you been to Trinity Leeds? Do you have a shopping centre that you adore? Let me know down below!

I hope that you have enjoyed this short post. This post isn't sponsored. I just thought that it would be amazing to advertise and talk about an amazing place.

Making The Week Bloom | Blossoming Gifts Review

Hey!

Blossoming Gifts has a small team of experienced florists that design and create each of their bouquets especially for the customer. They use the freshest flowers to guarantee the bouquet will stay fresh for up to 7 days. You can also add your very own personalised gift message to all of their bouquets free of charge which I think is a cute thing. Blossoming Gifts do not believe in machine made at all therefore all of their bouquets are hand-tied at their UK floristry centre with love and care by their team to make the perfect gift you could give to anyone!

Blossoming Gifts gave me the chance to choose something off their website so I could review it and talk to you guys about the product and Blossoming Gifts as a brand. As I'm not the biggest fanatic of flowers, I thought that it would be great to give them to my Mother as a gift but also as I know that she loves a good bunch of flowers.

I searched high and low on their website with my Mum and after a while we both decided on a good bouquet to review which was the Lily and Rose Bouquet with Chocolates as this package meant that my Mum would get some fabulous flowers and I would get some creamy chocolates which is a win win situation in my opinion.

The rest of the post is influenced via my Mother.

The Scent:

The scent was very strong yet fresh for a good couple of days which filled the room beautifully then it muted into a more softer yet still floral scent. I love the scent of Lilies with that slightly sweet note from the Roses.

(*The flowers won't download to my blog but they are on my Instagram which is linked with the word!)

The Lasting Power:

The flowers lasted seven days which is impressive as I've had some bouquets that have only lasted a few days.

The Colour:

The colour of these flowers were so vibrant and I wish that I could buy a bouquet for every room in the house!

Opinion:
I would give these a 9.9, it would be a ten if I could have one in every room. I loved everything about the bouquet of flowers and I love how you can get different packages with things such as Wine and Chocolates which would make an excellent present for anyone really. I think that these would be a great present for Mothers Day!

Have you bought any flowers that have wowed you? Let me know down below!

I hope that you have enjoyed this post and I hope that your Monday is going well!

The products mentioned were sent in return of a review. All views and opinions by myself and my Mum are all our own.

Treat Yourself This Valentines Day! | Valentines Day Gift Guide

    Hey!

Valentines Day is coming up and I know that for single people it is a day that they despise sometimes so I thought that I would do a gift guide that is all about treating yourself so the single people of the world don't feel left out.

    Chocolates:

Chocolate is always a good thing when it comes to treating yourself and as there is so much chocolate on the market I think that it's good to go for something that's a little bit different or luxurious when it comes to Valentines Day. Lindt do some amazing chocolates but I would have to go for this H Box from Hotel Chocolat that has been made specifically for Valentines Day. This box includes something for everyone from a bright Lemon and White Chocolate, a luxurious Salted Caramel truffle and a deep Rum truffle.

A white rectangular box with a H cut out to show off the different coloured truffles with a black logo on a white background.
    Netflix and Food:

This sounds like an obvious one but have a lazy day filled with wonderful things. Get your favourite drink, order in your favourite food, get all warm on the sofa or in bed and put on your favourite show which might be something serious or something a bit trashy and just binge watch, Its a great way to spend the day as you will be doing something great and as you will be entertained you won't have to shout things at your phone about people in relationships being lovey-dovey.

A black flat screen TV with a film on the screen on a glass table with a vase of colourful flowers at the side on a white background.
    Flowers:

Everyone deserves some flowers every now and again so Valentines Day is a great time to purchase yourself some of your favourite flowers. I think that Blossoming Gifts is a great place to purchase them as they have an amazing array of different bouquets and they also have gifts such as Wine, Prosecco and Chocolates which can be included with the bouquet.

A bunch of white lilies and red roses with green leaves in a white vase on a white background.
    Underwear:

This one is mainly for the men but I am sure that it is possible to find some amazing underwear no matter who you are. I love the underwear from Ava-J and I think that treating yourself to some new underwear on Valentines Day is a great thing to do as it boosts your self confidence for the near future! They have a great gift set for VD which contains two Jock Briefs and a Peppermint Face Scrub which would help VD be a great pamper day!

A open rectangular box with two pairs of black underwear and a silver and blue bottle on a white bavkground.

A guy in black underwear on a white background.

    Alcohol:

This can also be intertwined with the Netflix option but Alcohol always make a great day even better so I think treating yourself to a good glass of something is always a great thing. I would suggest either Salted Caramel Cocoa Vodka for anyone who either loves Vodka or has a sweet tooth. It's from Hotel Chocolat but it goes great with Lemonade.

A glass bottle full of dark caramel vodka with a silver label on a white background.

For anyone who is more of a cider person then there's always Brother's Cider which would be a perfect accompaniment to Valentines Day.  Brothers have so many flavours including Toffee Apple. Wild Fruits, Coconut & Lime, Cloudy Lemon and many more. They even do a litre cartons for things such as travelling, gigs and festivals which I think is an amazing idea. They even have a recipe to make a Winter spiced drink on their website for those who love a warmer sort of drink. The ciders are vegan as well normally which is an additional bonus!

Different coloured bottles of Cider with a grey carton of Festival Cider in the middle.

What are you doing this Valentines Day? Let me know down below or talk to me via Facebook, Twitter or Instagram via searching for my handle @thejamiesowden.

I hope that you have enjoyed this blog post and I hope that you have a fabulous Valentines Day no matter what.

    Thanks for reading!

Jamie Spills The Tea | Lady Gaga

    Hey!

Welcome to a brand new episode of Jamie Spills The Tea. I thought due to everything that has gone on this week that it would be a good thing to spill all the tea about Lady Gaga.

Lady Gaga (aka Stefani Germanotta) was born on March 28th, 1986) is an American singer, songwriter, actress, advocate and much more. She came to fame when she released her first song under Lady Gaga called Just Dance which also featured Colby O'Donis. She studied at Tisch School in New York City before dropping out to pursue a singing career. In the past, she worked for Sony Music Publishing as a songwriter. Gaga has released 5 albums (The Fame, Born This Way, ARTPOP, Cheek 2 Cheek (with Tony Bennett) and Joanne) and one EP (The Fame Monster.)

Gaga has done a lot in the past such as creating the Born This Way Foundation to help children, She's helped with rallies when it comes to LGBT+ values. She's talked about her bisexuality, her anxiety, her PTSD/ She generally has no bad bones in her body but she will shut you down if you try and come for her in any single way which can be proven by the tweets after the Superbowl performance.

When she does a performance, Gaga will do them to the best of her ability. If you won't take my word for it then watch her VMA performance of Paparazzi where fake blood is involved or any of the tributes she's done such as Bowie, John Lennon, Frank Sinatra and many more. Look at the footage of her tours, she creates an image that will never be forgotten at them such as see through staging. She literally creates art out of pop music.

She has talked about her sexuality in many ways including creating songs about it that have been worldwide hits. She's done rallies and spoken for the LGBT+ community when we've needed it which I think is a great thing especially when you have such a big following as some celebs don't use their platform to do things like that. She's known for talking about politics in great detail and some were scared/annoyed that she would do the same at the Superbowl 51 performance but instead the Lady side of Gaga came out and she said what she needed to say in a subtle but meaningful way which I loved!

All in all, Gaga is a great person who has grown so much from before she came Gaga and will continue to grow in many different ways.

What did you think of the Superbowl Half Time performance from Lady Gaga? Let me know down below!

I hope that you've enjoyed and have been educated slightly within this Jamie Spills The Tea post. I hope that you've enjoyed it and will come back next time for another Jamie Spills The Tea.

Kiss Me Quick Before It's Over! | Lush: Kiss Me Quick Business Wash Card Review

    Hey!

I thought that I would do a review of a Valentines Day exclusive that is appearing at Lush for the first time ever this year!

Kiss Me Quick is a Business Wash Card that is sold at Lush stores all over the UK this year via it's Valentines Day range. A business wash card is basically a little card that when water is added it turns into soap. Due to this being a small product, it means that you can take it anywhere for that moment when you need a quick refresh! The sheet is made of Fresh Apple Pulp and the scent consists of Ylang Ylang , Lemon, Lime and Sandalwood Oils,Tonka Absolute Jasmine Absolute and Gardenia Extract. If you're a hardcore Lushie then you will know that all of these scent components make up the well-known 29 High Street which is also known as the smell of a Lush shop bottled up. This product is £2.

A yellow wash sheet with Kiss Me Quick in red writing with a small love heart next to it on a white background.

The size is small but boy does this pack a punch as you can probably tell by the amount of oils that are packed into this potent product. When I smelt it at the Lush White Rose branch, I was a bit hesitant on it but I thought that like most of the Lush products that I've been hesitant with if I purchase it and smell it again then I'll grow to it! After I returned back home I gave it another whiff and realised something. If you smell different parts of the product then you can tell which oil that section consists of such as one of the corners smelt more Lime based than the rest of the card etc.

The soap has more of a creamy sensation when its submerged in water. You expect the product to lather due to it being a soap but instead it creates more of a light cream texture which could be likened to the shower smoothies that can be bought at Lush stores. The deep scent lasts on your skin for a slight while. If they did a body butter/cream of a slightly stronger version of this then I would buy it in a heartbeat. I wouldn't say that it's a Lush shop in one but it represents Lush as a whole. I'd give this an 8.5/10. If it was stronger and maybe a bit bigger or something then it would be 9.5.

Have you tried any of the Valentines Day products from Lush? Let me know down below!

I hope that you have enjoyed this little review and I hope that you come back on Wednesday for a brand new post in the Jamie Spills The Tea series.

    Thanks for reading!
