Hey everyone!
Welcome to a brand new blog post all about the brand new Summer Body Sprays from Lush. Lush kindly sent me the Lemony Flutter Body Spray so I will be focusing on that today and then next week I will be focusing on the rest of the range.
These Body Sprays are available to purchase online, the Beak Street store in Soho, London alongside the other new perfumes that are exclusive to Lush Beak St Soho for now and your local Lush store! These Body Sprays are limited edition so run and don’t walk to grab them before they sell out!
List Of Ingredients:
Organic Alcohol Denat., Water (Aqua), Perfume, Limonene, Glycerine, Citral, Sicilian Lemon Oil, Chamomile Blue Oil, Lavender Oil, Tagetes Oil, Citronellol, Coumarin, Eugenol, Geraniol, Hydroxycitronellal, Isoeugenol, Linalool.
This Body Spray is inspired by the very iconic Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter that has been available from Lush for a fair few years now. I remember this being one of the first products that I smelt when it came to checking out Lush’s hand products and honestly it evoked the vibe of Summer as soon as I sniffed it that first time many Summers ago.
I have used the Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter from Lush for a fair few years now. I am actually completely out of it at the moment but when I have used it I have used it everywhere. On my nails, on my hands, on my feet, my knees, elbows…. Everywhere! I love how it contains a multitude of enriching ingredients such as Fair Trade Organic Mango Butter, Fair Trade Shea Butter and Organic Jojoba Oils which keep all parts of the body feeling soft and supple so when I heard that Lush were releasing a Lemony Flutter Body Spray, I was over the moon!
I love Lemons. Truly, I do. I am that person who will eat lemons with no hesitation. I like to weird people out by eating lemon quarters in front of them whilst looking at them whilst having zero reaction. Its fun to see what peoples reactions of me doing this is due to well Lemons being sour.
When I first sprayed this after receiving the parcel, the first note that I picked out was the Sicilian Lemon Oil. A kick of zingy Lemon to the face. After a minute or so, I noticed the Lavender and Chamomile coming out and blending beautifully with the Lemon. The Tagetes Oil to me then came out to ensure that the Lemon wasn’t being overpowered by the herbal notes that had appeared in the fragrance of the Body Spray.Once the notes had appeared, the fragrance settled into a true Lemon fragrance that is supported by a herbaceous background.
I know that some of my fellow readers will be asking if there is a big difference between Lemony Flutter and Dad’s Garden Lemon Tree Body Spray from Lush and I am here to tell you the answer. There is. They are of a similar realm but there is a big difference in regards to scent between the two. I would describe Dad’s Garden Lemon Tree as being a scent based around picking Lemons off a Tree whilst being surrounded by shrubs of Lavender and Chamomile whilst Lemony Flutter is more based around zesting Lemons in the Kitchen to make a cake or slicing Lemons to make a Lemonade in the Kitchen in the warm heat whilst the window is open and a slight breeze brings in the whisper of Lavender and Chamomile from some nearby shrubs.
I am also surprised because weirdly you do get a creamy note alongside the Lemon in this Body Spray which to me mimics the Fair Trade Shea Butter and Fair Trade Organic Mango Butter that are in the Cuticle Butter to ensure that skin feels super nourished and cared for.
I applied this as soon as I received the parcel in the morning and I could smell it still by around six in the evening when I was running my bath. I could still smell the creamy citrus scent and I adored it.
Now, fragrances are subjective to everyone and on me, my skin has a tendency to pull put the other notes a little bit more (eg the Lavender and Chamomile in Lemony Flutter) which is why I was surprised that they didn’t overwhelm the Lemon notes when the Body Spray had settled on my skin.
This truly does evoke Lemonade in Summer vibes to me and I absolutely adore it. If you love anything Lemon heavy then I do think that you will enjoy this Body Spray. I would definitely give it a spray if you can get to a store to sniff it later this week especially whilst we are enjoying the warm weather in the UK.
Lush have asked me, what would I pair with Lemony Flutter to truly create a Summer bathing experience? I think that I would pair Happy Hippy Shower Gel, Whoosh Shower Jelly, Oaty Creamy Dreamy and Skin Softening Porridge Fresh Face Mask. I think that all of these products from Lush play on the citrus and herbal aspects of Lemony Flutter which in turn would compliment the Body Spray. I did actually use this combination earlier and oh my god, it was divine!
The other Body Sprays that have been released under this Summer Body Spray Range from Lush are:
Grape Soda.
Passion.
Peaches.
Space Girl.
