Hey everyone!
Welcome to a brand new blog post!
In true Jamie style, I’ve been unwell recently and thus I forgot about the Lush Kitchen Box. I really need to set a reminder up to subscribe! I have been on the hunt for the Lush Kitchen October Box and thankfully after some hunting the wonderful staff at Lush White Rose told me that they had some of the October Lush Kitchen Shower Boxes available and kindly put one to the side of me to purchase and pick up!
The October Kitchen Boxes were both centralised around all things freaky, dark and spooky.
Screamo Shower Gel
Don’t answer the phone, get in the shower instead!
Ingredients:
Almond Milk, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycerine, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Lauryl Betaine, Perfume, Benzoin Resinoid, Ylang Ylang Oil, Almond Essential Oil, Charcoal Powder, Carrageenan Extract, Titanium Dioxide, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Tin Oxide, Benzyl Alcohol, Coumarin, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene, Colour 77499.
Some of you may know Screamo at Lush as a Bath Bomb which was heavily inspired by the Scream Film franchise and created some truly terrifying bath art. Well, for the Lush October Kitchen Box, Lush have decided to turn the iconic Bath Bomb into a spooky Shower Gel. This Shower Gel contains Almond Milk, Powdered Charcoal, Benzoin Resinoid, Ylang Ylang and Almond Essential Oil. The combination of these ingredients creates an amazing Shower Gel that to me smells like Cherry Bakewells with a slightly floral undertone due to the inclusion of Ylang Ylang. I was also pleasantly surprised by the addition of Almond Milk as it made for a quite luxurious Shower experience and made my skin feel super soft. Now obviously the Charcoal helps to give the Shower Gel its terrifying colour but at the same time helped to cleanser my skin a little. I’m not sure if I am imagining this but I noticed that my skin felt quite cleansed after using this Gel. Almost like I had scrubbed it before going in with the Shower Gel.
If you love all things dark and spooky or if you’re a fan of scents that make you smell like a snack then you will definitely enjoy Screamo Shower Gel.
Night Bloom Soap
Who knows what you’ll turn into when the skies get dark… Who knows, you may turn into someone who smells gorgeous…
Ingredients:
Honeysuckle Infusion, Rapeseed Oil; Coconut Oil, Glycerine, Propylene Glycol, Water, Cornstarch, Kaolin, Perfume, Organic Virgin Coconut Oil, Sicilian Lemon Oil, Green Mandarin Oil, Rosemary Oil, Sage Oil, Sodium Chloride, Citric Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Bicarbonate, EDTA, Tetrasodium Etidronate, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Citral, Limonene, Colour 17200, Colour 42090.
Honestly I wasn’t sure what to expect with this Soap but I am glad that my expectations weren’t needed. This Soap is a blend of floral and all things herbal. The best way to describe it is the smell of walking through a slightly rain dampened field next to a graveyard at the end of October.
The floral notes in this soap mainly come from the Honeysuckle Infusion which provide a slightly light yet peppery floral note to me which goes beautifully with the herbal notes that are on this Soap. If you are a Lushie then imagine Honeysuchle layered with Junk perfume to create a sort of dark forest like floral scent. The blackcurrant note in Junk is still quite prevalent in this Soap which I love as it brings everything together a little bit.
Batcurrant Body Butter
Is it really Spooky Season without a Bat or two?
Ingredients:
Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Organic Macadamia Nut Oil, Laureth 4, Charcoal Powder, Pumice Powder, Perfume, Bergamot Oil, Blackcurrant Absolute, Cypress Oil, Limonene, Linalool.
I mean a beauty product shaped as a Bat from Lush, what more can you want from a Halloween themed Kitchen Box?
Some of you may be a bit confused on what a Solid Body Butter means at Lush so let me tell you. A solid Body Butter at Lush normally is a product that you take into the shower with yourself. Apply it onto wet skin, massage and rinse to reveal super soft and supple skin that will not only look like a treat but smell like one too!
The Charcoal and Punice Powders combine to give a soft and subtle scrub that isn’t too rough on the skin. I do prefer a coarser scrub especially during the colder months but that’s just my preference. I did quite like the softer scrub that was contained in this Body Butter as a sort of quick scrub in the shower first thing in the morning.
This Body Butter contains Cocoa Butter and Macadamia Nut Oil as the two main nourishing ingredeints which I think are the perfect fit for this type of product. Having a butter and oil for me ensures that you get the nourishment that your skin needs without being too greasy so when you rinse it on off you feel soft without feeling a bit like a slug in the nicest way possible?
Blackcurrant Absolute, Beegamot Oil and Cypress Oil make up the main scent notes of this beautiful Bat. If you are a big Lushie then these ingredients may make you think of a familiar Lush product… This beautiful Bat smells of the iconic Lush scent The Comforter. A beautifully sweet and comforting Blackcurrant scent that makes you think of all things sweet and beautiful but still has a dark undertone dying to get out.
Ectoplasm Shower Slime
Lather up with Ectoplasm to make your skin feel like a right treat!
Ingredients:
Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Water, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Glycerine, Cornstarch, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Bicarbonate, Xanthan Gum, Limonene, Tangerine Oil, Grapefruit Oil, Litsea Cubeba Oil, Fresh Grapefruit Juice, Fresh Tangerine Juice, Citral, Hydroxycitronellal, Linalool, Perfume, Colour 59040.
Who doesn’t love a Slime for Halloween? It’s spooky, creepy and just a little bit fun to play with. Now you can take a slime into the shower and live out your spooky fantasies or live out your fantasy of being at the Kids Choice Awards… The choice is yours!
If you’re a bit confused on what a Shower Slime is, don’t worry I’ll explain all. Imagine a sort of thicker Shower Gel that can be played with and used like a slime can. The Slimes at Lush usually come in a pot just like the Shower Jellies for ease of use. Just scoop a chunk out of the pot, apply to wet skin, Lather it up and make shower time an absolute blast before rinsing off.
This Shower Slime contains Tangerine, Grapefruit and Litsea Cubeba Oils alongside Fresh Grapefruit Juice and Fresh Tangerine Juice which combined create a fresh citrus blast that will help you to wake up on morning and be energised for all the spooky parting that you’ll be doing! Ectoplasm Shower Slime is amazing for the Spooky season but is also good for anytime of the year as the citrus oils in this Shower Slime will help to perk you up when the day is just too dark and miserable to handle! Well that’s what I’ll be using it for during the upcoming Winter period!
Prince Of Darkness Solid Perfume
Who doesn’t want to smell like the Prince Of Darkness?
Ingredients:
Cornstarch, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Tin Oxide,Amyl Cinnamal, Anise Alcohol, Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl Cinnamate, Cinnamal, Cinnamyl Alcohol, Citral, Eugenol, Geraniol, Isoeugenol, Colour 45410:2, Colour 42090:2, Colour 77491.
All Spooky Self Care routines can’t be completed without a spooky Perfume! This Kitchen Box contains a Solid Perfume. Lush have recently revamped their Solid perfumes so I thought it may be best to explain how to use their new Solid Perfumes. Pop the lid off, push the perfume up via the bottom of the Solid Perfumes tube, swipe onto the skin such as the wrists for hauntingly beautiful scented skin and then use your wrist to push the perfume back down and close the tube with the lid.
This Solid Perfume contains Labdanum Resinoid, Lavender Oil, Patchouli Pil and Benxoin Resinoid. If you are a fan of Lush’s Fresh Face Masks and let’s be honest who isn’t then you may recognise the name and scent of this Solid Perfume via the dark and seductive Prince Of Darkness Fresh Face Masks.
To me, the main two scents that are the forefront of this perfume are the Patchouli and Lavender whilst the Labdanum and Benzoin help to create a slightly creamy yet herbal base to the perfume. The Lavender and Patchouli combine to create a sort of dark and mysterious herbal scent to me that does give off witch vibes which I am more than fine with. I will definitely be using this during the colder months when I want something that I know will ground me when things are getting a little bit hectic. I would also love for Lush to do more things in this scent such as a Body Lotion maybe?
Did you manage to grab the Lish October Kitchen Box? Did you get the Shower or Bath version? What was your spooky self care routine on Halloween? Let me know!
Thanks for reading!
