My Dream Lush X Community Fragrances

 Hey everyone!

Welcome to a brand new blog post! Lush recently announced that a new Lush X Communiry Fragrance drop will be happening soon so I thought that today I would talk to you all about seven fragrances of my choosing that I would love to see some day as a part of a Lush X Community Fragrance drop!

Lush X Community is a limited time range at Lush that sometimes happens throughout the year and is focused on allowing the Lush Community to have their say on what retro and much loved scents at Lush should be featured as part of the drop. So far, the Lush  Community  has had their say on a Shower Gel drop, a Candle drop and now it’s time for the fragrances to shine. Fragrances did make an appearance as the first Lush X Community drop which introduced the iconic Sticky Dates Body Spray into the world!

Fragrance is subjective so these are just my personal choices. Talking about Frsgrances, Lush did recently release a new line of fragrances which include the much talked about Chelsea Morning. Let me know if you would like a blog post about my thoughts on the scents in that range.

Phoenix Rising

Phoenix Rising contains Bergamot Oil and Cassia Oil.

To me, this blend of amazing oils creates a gorgeous warm and spicy scent with a sort of sparkling citrus undertone.

This was one of my first ever Lush Bath Bombs that I used and honestly it was love at first sight! I am a fiend for anything that has a spicy scent to it and as this scent is very much intriguing due to the moisture of spice and citrus, I just wanted more in this scent. It honestly does give me the vibe of a warm hug during the colder months or being wrapped up nice and cosy whilst you enjoy a warming drink in the cold months. Now sadly, Phoenix Rising did suffer a rise and fall at Lush and was discontinued for a while but now it’s back and better via the brand new Retro/Archive Wall at Lush and now that it’s back front and centre I think that Phoenix Rising would be perfect in the form of a Body Spray. Just imagine smelling of during the cold months, you’d have people wanting to smell you and ask you what you’re wearing!

May Day

May Day was my first Charity Bath Bomb from Lush and the main reason as to why I’m including this scent is due to nostalgia but I really did love the scent of this Bath Bomb.  To this day, I think that releasing it as a fragrance with a percentage going to a charity would not only fit in with what Lush stands for and a business but also a great idea for those who haven’t had the pleasure of smelling May Day.

May Day contains Fennel Oil, Rosewood Oil and Bergamot Oil which creates a sort of lovely blend of spice, floral and citrus all in one bath bomb with a slight focus on the spice with a touch of the floral coming through the most.

May Day was released in 2014 as a charity bath bomb to help protect badgers in the UK. I think for those who like say Dragons Egg or Sakura but want a little bit of spice thrown in would definitely enjoy this.

Daddy-O

Daddy-O contains Violet Leaf and Pakistani Rose Absolutes, Bergamot Oil, Cananga Oil and Fresh Lime Juice. This is a floral scent but to me it’s a fresh and slightly citrus take on a floral. Imagine a pure intense Violet scent that feels like a mixture of crushed up Parma Violet sweets mixed with freshly picked Violet mixed with a slightly citrus undertone.

This is to die for and recently Lush has been expanding the Daddy-O scent into other products such as the Super Dad Bath Bomb from Fathers Day and Violet Cream Conditioner.

I think that this scent in a fragrance format would be amazing. Does Lush have other amazing floral scents? Yes, I could spend all day listing them off but I think that Daddy-O would do amazing for those who are a bit hesitant when it comes to Violet Scents as I think Daddy-O is that perfect mix of floral, citrus and sweet to get those hesitant onto the Violet fragrance hype.

Posh Chocolate

I mean, who doesn’t love smelling like a snack and chocolate is the ultimate snack… well it is to me!

Posh Chocolate contains Hazelnut Milk, Cocoa Powder, Cocoa Absolute, Australian Sandalwood Oil and Vanilla Absolute. Chocolate and Hazelnut you say, doesn’t that sound like a well known chocolate spread you also say? Maybe… If you like a well known  hazelnut and chocolate spread then imagine it in a Fragrance from.

Lush does have a fair few gourmand fragrances and they have gone viral for being well delicious but i am intrigued to see how strong and well Posh Chocolate would be in a  fragrance form. Just imagine it, walking into work or going out and you have people asking why you smell like a delicious chocolate dessert and you say well it’s Posh Chocolate of course! I also love how fragrances can change your mood and I definitely think after a spray of this your mood would definitely be enhanced!

Brother Moon

Brother Moon contains Geranium Oil, Grapefruit Oil and Rose Oil. I know that this may sound like such a weird mixture but honestly it works and creates a beautifully inviting yet slightly intriguing scent. The Geranium and Rose help to create a scent that reminds you of walking through a beautiful fresh botanical garden whilst the Grapefruit helps to cut through this and add a huge blast of brightness to the scent.

I know that you may see Rose and instantly think of Rose Jam at Lush and how there is already a Perfume and Body Spray of Rose Jam but to me Brother Moon is a sort of grown up cousin of Rose Jam. They would layer beautifully together but I think that if Brother Moon was to be released then those who find Rose Jam a little bit too sweet may be drawn to Brother Moon.

Carrots/Follow The White Rabbit

Follow The White Rabbit has become an Easter staple at Lush. Follow The White Rabbit contains Bergamot Oil, Buchu Oil and Sicilian Lemon Oil. This blend of oils creates a truly bright and citrus scent with a slightly tart blackcurrant undertone that helps to round out the citruses and make it feel like you’re enjoying a delicious picnic in the park in the midst of Spring when it’s sunny for those few days before the English April Showers kick in.

Lush have released many products in the Carrots/Follow The White Rabbits scent family over the years ranging from soaps to bath and shower products but they have never released a fragrance of it! I think that it would do amazing as a fragrance. You could wear it during the Spring when flowers are slowly blooming, you could wear it in Autumn when you need a little pick me up… I mean you could even layer it with Grass Shower Gel for the ultimate sort of picnic vibe. It would be amazing! Well I think it would be amazing!

Party On

Correct me if I’m wrong but Party On was released back in the day to help people party the night away for when you need a pick me up the day after when you’ve partied just that little bit too hard.

Party On contains Lime Oil, Menthol, Rosemary Oil and Juniperberry Oil. This may sound like an odd combination but it really works. The Menthol alongside the Juniperberry and Rosemary give a sort of clean minty herbal scent whilst the Lime contrasts against it and gives a massive hit of zing to the product. I adore it!

I think that this as a fragrance would be amazing. It could be used for all those festive parties that are about to kick off or for when you’re feeling a little bit worse for wear the day after but you still need to go outside. I just think that it would do really well and that it’s a unique scent that I think should be brought out as a fragrance for those who haven’t experienced it before. Lush did have this scent out as a Temple Balm years ago which I think was the nearest to this scent being out as a fragrance really but I think this as a festive party fragrance would be really amazing!

What would be your top picks for your favourite Lush X Community Perfumes if you choose them? Let me know down below!

Lush Hanukkah 2024 Range

Hey everyone!

Welcome to a brand new blog post! Lush have released their Hanukkah 2024 Range and I thought that I would talk to you all about it today.

A wide angled photo with an arched light gold Hanukkah menorah in the background with a rectangular box in blue packaging with stars and other gold designs on the front with a gold circular lsbel on the front with bright nights in black font with a blue rectangular dreidel shaped bath bomb with gold accents on it next to a circular gold soap with a arched menorah engraved into it on a bright background

Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel Bath Bomb - £6.

Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel has had a bit of a glow up and is now sporting a vibrant blue colour!

This beautiful Bath Bomb contains Myrrh Resinoid, Orange Flower Absolute and Cinnamon Leaf Oil. These ingredients combine to create a truly autumnal scent that is divine in my opinion. They all combine to create a scent that’s reminiscent of a freshly baked Apple Pie. Apple and Cinnamon. The best of friends. If you have smelt the Apple Crumble Bubble Bar from Lush then imagine that scent in a Bath Bomb that creates truly beautiful Bath Art. I love all things Apple and Cinnamon so I adore the scent of this bath bomb. If you’re looking for a bath bomb to celebrate Hanukkah with or a Bath Bomb that will make you feel like you’re in a rom com crunching through the leaves whilst Christmas Markets are set up all around  you then I think that Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel Bath Bomb will be for you! If you are looking for a fragrance from Lush to layer with Dreidel, Dreidel , Dreidel then I would suggest Love which contains Bergamot Oil, Rose Absolute, Jasmine Absolute, Ylang Ylang Oil and Ylang Ylang Absolute which in my opinion creates a sort of lightly spiced Apple scent with a soft floral undertone.

A photo of a blue dreidel shaped bath bomb with gold accetnts on the side of it on a bright background

Gelt Soap - £7.

I recently was invited to the Lush Manchester Arndale Holiday Preview Event (click here to read the post) where not only did I have an absolute blast but I also had the chance to talk to the wonderful Luka who helped to make Gelt Soap as a part of the Lush Co-Create Scheme. Luka explained to me that tradition is a big part of cultural holidays like Hanukkah as they bring communities together such as the tradition of lighting the Chanukkah Candles. They also talked about how Gelt is Yiddish for money and used the tradition of Chocolate Coins during Hanukkah to create a new chocolate inspired scent for the Soap.

This Soap contains Grapefruit Oil, Labdanum Resinoid and Dark Sumatran Patchouli Oil. This blend of ingredients creates a scent that to me reminds me of a rich sweet citrusy chocolate pudding with a bit of a spicy undertone. I realise that this may sound a bit peculiar but I think that the mixture of Grapefruit and Labdanum creates a sort of sweet creamy mix of citrus and chocolate that reminds me a bit of Chocolate Orange. The Patchouli adds a bit of a deep spicy undertone that makes me think that the chocolate that would be used if this scent was a bar in the shops would be a sort of 75%+ Dark Chocolate.

If you were looking for a perfume to pair with the brand new Gelt Soap then I would suggest either Vegan Leather Jacket or Turmeric Latte as they would both compliment the Patchouli and Labdanum notes that are in the fragrance of this soap.

A photo of a circular golden soap with a arched menorah engraved into the bottom half of the front of the soap on a bright background

Bright Nights Gift Set - £14.50

This Gift Set contains both the Dreidel Dreidel Dreidel Bath Bomb and a Gelt Soap. If you’re looking for a way to gift something to someone who loves Lush this Hanukkah then this is the perfect option! A perfect little bathtime routine in a box. Pop the bath bomb into the water and whilst you’re bathing in spiced Apple goodness you can wash yourself with the Gelt Soap in the tub! I’ll definitely be grabbing one of these as I think it’s the perfect little gift for someone who likes anything that screams Autumn too.

Oh Hanukkah/Light Shines In the Darkness Knot Wrap - £7.

I love Knot Wraps. I like to use them in multiple ways. Whether this be to use  as a carrier for some of my self care products when I’m travelling away for a few days or for storage  purposes or to use as back groups for when I take photos. I just think that they add an element of luxury and help to make my photos pop.

This year for the Hanukkah Range Lush have released the Oh Hanukkah/Light Shines In The Darkness Knot Wrap which I think looks beautiful.

Jordan Sandlwe who has helped to design this particular knot wrap stated that the inspiration for this knot wrap design was to showcase lightness through all of the darkness of the world and that his aim for this knot wrap is for people to keep being optimistic no matter what life throws at them.  I love this statement and is something that I am working really hard on trying to do a little bit more at the moment especially with what has happened in the world this past week. I know a lot of people use knot wraps for different things such as wearing in their hair so do let me know what you use Knot Wraps for!

Getting Freaky In The Shower This Spooky Season! | Lush Kitchen October Shower Box

 Hey everyone!

Welcome to a brand new blog post!

In true Jamie style, I’ve been unwell recently and thus I forgot about the Lush Kitchen Box. I really need to set a reminder up to subscribe! I have been on the hunt for the Lush Kitchen October Box and thankfully after some hunting the wonderful staff at Lush White Rose told me that they had some of the October Lush Kitchen Shower Boxes available and kindly put one to the side of me to purchase and pick up!

A white and green square box opened up with a black and white square card with fresh from the kitchen in green oozing font with a clear clinical bottle filled with dark black glittery shower gel with a black rectangular label with Screamo shower gel lush in white font next to a black and purple crescent shaped soap and a purple shhimmwring bat shaped body butter with a clear cylindrical tub filled with yellow shower slime with a circular black label with ectoplasm shower slime lush in white font next to a a small cylindrical black tube filled with purple shimmering solid perfume with Prince of darkness solid perfume lush in white font on the front of it on a bright round

The October Kitchen Boxes were both centralised around all things freaky, dark and spooky.

Screamo Shower Gel

Don’t answer the phone, get in the shower instead!

Ingredients:

Almond Milk, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycerine, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Lauryl Betaine, Perfume, Benzoin Resinoid, Ylang Ylang Oil, Almond Essential Oil, Charcoal Powder, Carrageenan Extract, Titanium Dioxide, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Tin Oxide, Benzyl Alcohol, Coumarin, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene, Colour 77499.

Some of you may know Screamo at Lush as a Bath Bomb which was heavily inspired by the Scream Film franchise and created some truly terrifying bath art. Well, for the Lush October Kitchen Box, Lush have decided to turn the iconic Bath Bomb into a spooky Shower Gel. This Shower Gel contains Almond Milk, Powdered Charcoal, Benzoin Resinoid, Ylang Ylang and Almond Essential Oil. The combination of these ingredients creates an amazing Shower Gel that to me smells like Cherry Bakewells with a slightly floral undertone due to the inclusion of Ylang Ylang. I was also pleasantly surprised by the addition of Almond Milk as it made for a quite luxurious Shower experience and made my skin feel super soft. Now obviously the Charcoal helps to give the Shower Gel its terrifying colour but at the same time helped to cleanser my skin a little. I’m not sure if I am imagining this but I noticed that my skin felt quite cleansed after using this Gel. Almost like I had scrubbed it before going in with the Shower Gel.

If you love all things dark and spooky or if you’re a fan of scents that make you smell like a snack then you will definitely enjoy Screamo Shower Gel.

Night Bloom Soap

Who knows what you’ll turn into when the skies get dark… Who knows, you may turn into someone who smells gorgeous…

Ingredients:

Honeysuckle Infusion, Rapeseed Oil; Coconut Oil, Glycerine, Propylene Glycol, Water, Cornstarch, Kaolin, Perfume, Organic Virgin Coconut Oil, Sicilian Lemon Oil, Green Mandarin Oil, Rosemary Oil, Sage Oil, Sodium Chloride, Citric Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Bicarbonate, EDTA, Tetrasodium Etidronate, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Citral, Limonene, Colour 17200, Colour 42090.

Honestly I wasn’t sure what to expect with this Soap but I am glad that my expectations weren’t needed. This Soap is a blend of floral and all things herbal. The best way to describe it is the smell of walking through a slightly rain dampened field next to a graveyard at the end of October.

The floral notes in this soap mainly come from the Honeysuckle Infusion which provide a slightly light yet peppery floral note to me which goes beautifully with the herbal notes that are on this Soap. If you are a Lushie then imagine Honeysuchle layered with Junk perfume to create a sort of dark forest like floral scent. The blackcurrant note in Junk is still quite prevalent in this Soap which I love as it brings everything together a little bit.

Batcurrant Body Butter

Is it really Spooky Season without a Bat or two?

Ingredients:

Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Organic Macadamia Nut Oil, Laureth 4, Charcoal Powder, Pumice Powder, Perfume, Bergamot Oil, Blackcurrant Absolute, Cypress Oil, Limonene, Linalool.

I mean a beauty product shaped as a Bat from Lush, what more can you want from a Halloween themed Kitchen Box?

Some of you may be a bit confused on what a Solid Body Butter means at Lush so let me tell you. A solid Body Butter at Lush normally is a product that you take into the shower with yourself. Apply it onto wet skin, massage and rinse to reveal super soft and supple skin that will not only look like a treat but smell like one too!

The Charcoal and Punice Powders combine to give a soft and subtle scrub that isn’t too rough on the skin. I do prefer a coarser scrub especially during the colder months but that’s just my preference. I did quite like the softer scrub that was contained in this Body Butter  as a sort of quick scrub in the shower first thing in the morning.

This Body Butter contains Cocoa Butter and Macadamia Nut Oil as the two main nourishing ingredeints which I think are the perfect fit for this type of product. Having a butter and oil for me ensures that you get the nourishment that your skin needs without being too greasy so when you rinse it on off you feel soft without feeling a bit like a slug in the nicest way possible?

Blackcurrant Absolute, Beegamot Oil and Cypress Oil make up the main scent notes of this beautiful Bat. If you are a big Lushie then these ingredients may make you think of a familiar Lush product… This beautiful Bat smells of the iconic Lush scent The Comforter.  A beautifully sweet and comforting Blackcurrant scent that makes you think of all things sweet and beautiful but still has a dark undertone dying to get out.

Ectoplasm Shower Slime

Lather up with Ectoplasm to make your skin feel like a right treat!

Ingredients:

Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Water, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Glycerine, Cornstarch, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Bicarbonate, Xanthan Gum, Limonene, Tangerine Oil, Grapefruit Oil, Litsea Cubeba Oil, Fresh Grapefruit Juice, Fresh Tangerine Juice, Citral, Hydroxycitronellal, Linalool, Perfume, Colour 59040.

Who doesn’t love a Slime for Halloween? It’s spooky, creepy and just a little bit fun to play with. Now you can take a slime into the shower and live out your spooky fantasies or live out your fantasy of being at the Kids Choice Awards… The choice is yours!

If you’re a bit confused on what a Shower Slime is,  don’t worry I’ll explain all. Imagine a sort of thicker Shower Gel that can be played with and used like a slime can. The Slimes at Lush usually come in a pot just like the Shower Jellies for ease of use. Just scoop a chunk out of the pot, apply to wet skin, Lather it up and make shower time an absolute blast before rinsing off.

This Shower Slime contains Tangerine, Grapefruit and Litsea Cubeba Oils alongside Fresh Grapefruit Juice and Fresh Tangerine Juice which combined create a fresh citrus blast that will help you to wake up on morning and be energised for all the spooky parting that you’ll be doing! Ectoplasm Shower Slime is amazing for the Spooky season but is also good for anytime of the year as the citrus oils in this Shower Slime will help to perk you up when the day is just too dark and miserable to handle! Well that’s what I’ll be using it for during the upcoming Winter period!

Prince Of Darkness Solid Perfume

Who doesn’t want to smell like the Prince Of Darkness?

Ingredients:

Cornstarch, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Tin Oxide,Amyl Cinnamal, Anise Alcohol, Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl Cinnamate, Cinnamal, Cinnamyl Alcohol, Citral, Eugenol, Geraniol, Isoeugenol, Colour 45410:2, Colour 42090:2, Colour 77491.

All Spooky Self Care routines can’t be completed without a spooky Perfume! This Kitchen Box contains a Solid Perfume. Lush have recently revamped their Solid perfumes so I thought it may be best to explain how to use their new Solid Perfumes. Pop the lid off, push the perfume up via the bottom of the Solid Perfumes tube, swipe onto the skin such as the wrists for hauntingly beautiful scented skin and then use your wrist to push the perfume back down and close the tube with the lid.

This Solid Perfume contains Labdanum Resinoid, Lavender Oil, Patchouli Pil and Benxoin Resinoid. If you are a fan of Lush’s Fresh Face Masks and let’s be honest who isn’t then you may recognise the name and scent of this Solid Perfume via the dark and seductive Prince Of Darkness Fresh Face Masks.

To me, the main two scents that are the forefront of this perfume are the Patchouli and Lavender whilst the Labdanum and Benzoin help to create a slightly creamy yet herbal base to the perfume.  The Lavender and Patchouli combine to create a sort of dark and mysterious herbal scent to me that does give off witch vibes which I am more than fine with. I will definitely be using this during the colder months when I want something that I know will ground me when things are getting a little bit hectic. I would also love for Lush to do more things in this scent such as a Body Lotion maybe?

Did you manage to grab the Lish October Kitchen Box? Did you get the Shower or Bath version? What was your spooky self care routine on Halloween? Let me know!

Thanks for reading!
